EssCard Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• EssCard keeps your business cards and your "people I met" notes only on your phone.
• There is no account, no ESSPRY server that receives your data, no ads, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no AI service. Your card's QR code is generated on your phone and contains your contact details directly. It is not a link to a EssCard server.
• The one outside service we use is RevenueCat, which handles in-app purchases and subscription status together with Apple and Google. It receives limited purchase-related technical data (section 4), not your cards or contacts.
• We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking.

2. Who we are

ESSPRY LLC ("ESSPRY", "we", "us") publishes EssCard. ESSPRY does not receive or hold the content you put into EssCard. It stays on your device and under your control. ESSPRY's own information about you is limited to what you choose to send us (for example, a support email) and what we can see through RevenueCat, Apple and Google (section 4).

3. What EssCard stores on your device

EssCard stores the following locally on your phone (in the app's private storage):

• Your cards: name, job title, company, phone, email and up to eight links per card that you enter, plus the card's look (theme and accent colour).
• People you met: name, where and when you met, your notes, a follow-up date and whether you followed up. This is information about other people that you choose to enter. Please enter only what you are comfortable keeping on your phone.

None of this is sent to ESSPRY and we cannot see, recover or restore it. If you delete the app, lose your phone or reset it, the information may be lost. Your phone's own backup (iCloud, Google backup) may include app data depending on your device settings, which Apple, Google and you control.

Sharing your card. The QR code and the vCard (.vcf) file contain the contact details you put on that card. Anyone who scans the QR code or receives the file gets those details, so only put on a card what you want to share. A vCard file is handed to your phone's share sheet. CSV export of "people I met" (Pro) is likewise created on your phone and handed to the share sheet. Where either goes afterwards is your choice and governed by the app you pick. EssCard keeps these temporary files in the app's cache.

4. Third parties

RevenueCat (in-app purchases), service provider. EssCard uses the RevenueCat SDK to show purchase options, process purchases through Apple's App Store or Google Play, check whether the Pro plan is active, and restore purchases. RevenueCat acts on our behalf as a processor. To do this, RevenueCat receives:

• an anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat generates for your installation (EssCard has no accounts and does not give RevenueCat your name or email);
• purchase and subscription information from the store (such as which product, purchase and expiry dates, and store receipt data);
• technical device and app information needed for the service (such as app version, operating system, store, country or region). Like any internet service, RevenueCat's servers also see your IP address when your device contacts them.

This contact happens whenever the app checks Pro status or loads purchase options, even if you never buy. EssCard does not send RevenueCat your cards, contacts, notes or anything you type.

Apple and Google. Purchases are made through your Apple ID or Google account and are governed by their terms and privacy policies. ESSPRY does not receive your payment card details. We may see limited, aggregated sales and subscription reports in App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

No others. EssCard contains no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, social SDKs or crash reporters. A hosted card page with tap analytics is shown as "Coming soon" in the app; it does not exist today. If we ever add it, we will update this policy before it ships.

5. Permissions and device features

• Notifications: optional, requested when you set a follow-up reminder. EssCard schedules a local notification on your phone for the follow-up date. Your phone creates and shows it. No server or push service is involved and EssCard does not obtain a push token. You can turn notifications off in your phone's Settings.
• Screen brightness: when you open the "present" screen to show your QR code, EssCard raises the screen brightness to maximum so the code scans easily, and restores it when you leave. EssCard does not read anything else from your device for this.

EssCard does not ask for your location, camera, photos, contacts or microphone.

6. Children

EssCard is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We operate no accounts and receive no user content, so we hold nothing about a child's use of the app. If you believe a child has contacted us, email support@esspryllc.com and we will delete it. This statement is intended to meet COPPA and the GDPR's rules for children (GDPR-K). Purchases require an adult account holder on Apple or Google.

7. Retention and deletion

• Your cards and people notes: kept on your device until you delete them. Delete a card or person in the app, use "Delete all my data" in Settings, or uninstall the app, which removes the app's stored data, cached share files and scheduled reminders from the device. Anything you already shared (a QR scan, a vCard or CSV file) is outside our control.
• Purchase data at RevenueCat, Apple and Google: kept under their retention rules. To ask us to request deletion of RevenueCat records for your installation, email support@esspryllc.com. Because purchases are linked to an anonymous ID, please include your Apple or Google order number if you have it, so the record can be located. Apple and Google keep purchase records for tax and legal reasons regardless of the app.
• Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to answer you and meet legal obligations.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Turkey's KVKK (Law No. 6698), or similar laws. These include rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, port your data, and complain to your regulator.

In practice: nearly all your data is on your device and you can view, edit, export and delete it yourself in the app. For the small amount of purchase-related data handled by RevenueCat or the stores, email support@esspryllc.com and we will respond within the time required by law (generally 30 to 45 days) and help route the request to RevenueCat, Apple or Google where they hold the data.

• California: we do not sell or share personal information as defined in the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
• EU/UK: For the limited data described in this policy, ESSPRY LLC is the controller (contact details below). For purchase-related data the basis is performing our contract with you (delivering Pro) and our legitimate interest in running the app securely. Notes you keep about people you meet, on your own phone, are handled by you.
• Turkey (KVKK): you may apply to us under Article 11 of KVKK using the email below.

9. Security

Your data is protected by your phone's own security (screen lock, device encryption, app sandboxing). Contact with RevenueCat uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, and because we hold no copy of your data, keeping your device secure and backed up matters. Remember that your QR code is not encrypted: it shows your contact details to anyone who scans it.

10. International note

ESSPRY LLC is a United States company. Your EssCard data stays on your device wherever you are. RevenueCat, Apple and Google may process purchase-related data in the United States and other countries; see their policies for transfer safeguards.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. For a material change we will update the effective date and, where required, notify you in the app or on the store listing before it takes effect. The current version is always at https://legal.esspryllc.com/cardly/privacy.
