EssVault Privacy Policy

1. The short version

• EssVault keeps your warranty items, receipt photos and settings only on your phone.
• There is no account, no ESSPRY server that receives your data, no ads, no analytics or crash-reporting tools, and no AI service. Receipt text recognition runs on your device.
• The one outside service we use is RevenueCat, which handles in-app purchases and subscription status together with Apple and Google. It receives limited purchase-related technical data (section 4), not your warranty items or photos.
• We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking.

2. Who we are

ESSPRY LLC ("ESSPRY", "we", "us") publishes EssVault. For purposes of data-protection law, ESSPRY does not receive or hold the content you put into EssVault. That content stays on your device and under your control. ESSPRY's own information about you is limited to what you choose to send us (for example, a support email) and what we can see through RevenueCat, Apple and Google (section 4).

3. What EssVault stores on your device

When you use the app, it stores the following locally on your phone (in the app's private storage):

• Warranty item details you type or confirm: item name, category, purchase date, warranty length, and optionally price, serial number and store name.
• A reference to a receipt or product photo you attach, plus the file name of that photo.
• Basic app state needed to work (for example, which items you have added, so the free-plan limit can be applied).

This information is not sent to ESSPRY, and we cannot see, recover or restore it. If you delete the app, lose your phone or reset it, the information may be lost. Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include app data depending on your device settings. That is controlled by Apple, Google and you, not by us.

Receipt scanning. If you use the receipt scan feature, the photo is analysed on your device using Google's ML Kit text recognition to suggest a purchase date and price. The photo and the recognised text are not sent to ESSPRY. Depending on your device, Google may download the text-recognition model to your device; that download does not include your photo.

4. Third parties

RevenueCat (in-app purchases), service provider. EssVault uses the RevenueCat SDK to show purchase options, process purchases through Apple's App Store or Google Play, check whether the Pro plan is active, and restore purchases. RevenueCat acts on our behalf as a processor. To do this, RevenueCat receives:

• an anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat generates for your installation (EssVault does not create accounts and does not give RevenueCat your name or email);
• purchase and subscription information from the store (such as which product, purchase and expiry dates, and store receipt data);
• technical device and app information needed for the service (such as app version, operating system, store, country or region). Like any internet service, RevenueCat's servers also see your IP address when your device contacts them.

This contact happens whenever the app checks Pro status or loads purchase options, including if you never buy anything. EssVault does not send RevenueCat your warranty items, photos or anything you type.

Apple and Google. Purchases are made through your Apple ID or Google account and are governed by Apple's and Google's terms and privacy policies. ESSPRY does not receive your payment card details. We may see limited, aggregated sales and subscription reports in App Store Connect and Google Play Console.

No others. EssVault contains no advertising networks, analytics SDKs, social SDKs or crash reporters. If that ever changes, we will update this policy before the change ships.

5. Permissions

• Photo library: so you can pick a receipt or product photo to attach to an item, and so the on-device scanner can read it. EssVault reads only the photo you pick.
• Camera: requested only if you choose to take a photo of a receipt instead of picking one.

You can change or withdraw either permission in your phone's Settings at any time. EssVault asks for notification permission only if you turn on Expiry reminders in Settings. Those reminders are scheduled on your phone from the warranty dates you entered and are never sent through a server. EssVault does not ask for your location, contacts or microphone.

6. Children

EssVault is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we operate no accounts and receive no user content, we have nothing to delete for a child's use of the app, but if you believe a child has contacted us, email support@esspryllc.com and we will delete it. This statement is intended to meet the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's rules for children (GDPR-K). Purchases require an adult account holder on Apple or Google.

7. Retention and deletion

• Your items and photo references: kept on your device until you delete them. Remove an item inside the app, or use "Delete all my data" in Settings, or uninstall the app, which removes the app's stored data from your device. Photos remain in your photo library until you delete them there.
• Purchase data at RevenueCat, Apple and Google: kept under their retention rules. To ask us to request deletion of RevenueCat records linked to your installation, email support@esspryllc.com. Because purchases are linked to an anonymous ID, please include your Apple or Google order number if you have it, so the record can be located. Apple and Google keep purchase records for tax and legal reasons regardless of the app.
• Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to answer you and meet legal obligations.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data under the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Turkey's KVKK (Law No. 6698), or similar laws. These include rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, port your data, and complain to your regulator.

In practice: nearly all your data is already on your device and you can view, edit, export and delete it yourself in the app. For the small amount of purchase-related data processed by RevenueCat or the stores, email support@esspryllc.com and we will respond within the time required by law (generally 30 to 45 days) and help route the request to RevenueCat, Apple or Google where they hold the data.

• California: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
• EU/UK: For the limited data described in this policy, ESSPRY LLC is the controller (contact details below). Where we process purchase-related data, the basis is performing our contract with you (delivering the Pro plan) and our legitimate interest in running the app securely.
• Turkey (KVKK): you may apply to us under Article 11 of KVKK using the email below.

9. Security

Your data is protected by your phone's own security (screen lock, device encryption, app sandboxing). Network contact with RevenueCat uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, and because we hold no copy of your data, keeping your device secure and backed up is important.

10. International note

ESSPRY LLC is a United States company. Your EssVault data stays on your device wherever you are. RevenueCat, Apple and Google may process purchase-related data in the United States and other countries; see their policies for the transfer safeguards they use.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date and, where required, tell you in the app or on the store listing before it takes effect. The current version is always at https://legal.esspryllc.com/essvault/privacy.
